How We Find and Rank Deals
Transparency matters when money is involved. Here's exactly where our data comes from, how we choose what to show, and how we make money.
Where our price data comes from
We do not scrape retailer websites. Our prices, price history, star ratings, and review counts come from a licensed third-party product-data service that legitimately tracks Amazon product information over time. This keeps our data compliant with Amazon's terms and gives us something a single snapshot can't: real price history, which is how we can tell a genuine drop from a fake discount.
How deals are discovered
Several times a day, an automated process looks for computer-memory products that have had a recent, real price drop, then pulls in current pricing, images, specifications, ratings, and 30-day price history for each. We filter out items that aren't consumer desktop or laptop RAM, such as enterprise and server memory, and drop anything missing a photo or a valid current price.
How deals are ranked
You control the ranking with the sort and filter tools, by price, discount, rating, or best sellers. Behind the scenes, our default ordering favors a combination of genuine discount depth and strong ratings. A few honest signals help you judge each listing:
- Discount percentage is calculated against the item's list price, not an inflated "was" price we made up.
- Lowest in 30 days appears only when the current price is at or below the real 30-day low from the price history.
- The 30-day trend is drawn from actual recorded prices, so a flat or rising line is shown honestly, not smoothed to look like a deal.
How we make money
RAM Deal Finder is free to use and reader-supported. When you click through and buy on Amazon, we may earn a small affiliate commission as an Amazon Associate, at no extra cost to you. We also show advertising. Neither of these changes which products we display or how they're ranked, our sort options are purely price, discount, and rating based. The commission simply keeps the lights on.
Confirm before you buy
Prices move constantly and can change between our updates and your click. We timestamp every listing so you can see how recent it is, but the price and availability at Amazon's checkout are always the source of truth. Please confirm there before purchasing.
